    Save a range

I have a simple question that I can't figure out the answer to. I need to save specific ranges in an excel file as a seperate file. Is there any easy way to do it??? In lotus when you do a file/save_as you get an option to save just the highlighted range.

    Re: Save a range

You could write VBA code to create a new workbook, copy the data to be saved, paste it into the new workbook, and save the new workbook. That would be worthwhile if you have to do this many times and if you can define what the code should save, where it should save it, and what the new filename should be.

You can also manually use File/New to create a new workbook, manually copy and paste the data, and manually save the new workbook.

There is nothing that I know of built into Excel that will help.

Or right click on the worksheet tab, and tell XL to make a copy in a new workbook, then remove the unwanted bits.
