IE Toolbar tabs (IE 6)

With the new IE toolbar, I cannot make new tabs pop up....

All I can get is single tab, single window browsing.

I can start a new blank tab and go from there, but cannot have links etc. open in new tabs.

Is this right, or do I need to change some setting?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

What "new IE toolbar" are you talking about?

    Hans:

It's that MSN Search toolbar with the tabbed browsing feature.

It would have been useful to mention that in the first place.

I'm afraid I can't help you - I won't allow anything to do with MSN on my PC.

    Hans:

    >>I won't allow anything to do with MSN on my PC<<

Basically, I step lightly as well... remembering of course that the OS is the same guys.

I just wanted to look, as that's purported to be the new IE 7 look, and, as it happens, I don't as yet (really) like any of the browsers.

NetCaptor looks like IE with tabs, but it reads bookmarks in in strange ways at times.

I've tried MyIE and Avant, but had problems with dropping links to the desktop.

Opera looks neat, but it too doesn't seem to display the pages in standard ways.

Firefox/SeaMonkey is probably my favorite of the lot, but it displays some pages (like msnbc.com) eraticallly. Although the fixed a good part of that with SeaMonkey, it's not fully extension-supported as yet.

So I was just poking around....

    Anyway...

(Edited by joeperez on 22-Aug-05 15:06. added Note)
It is definitely not the look of IE 7.0 beta 1. With a little searching you can find the beta on the internet. There is a section in Tools | Internet Options to control how tabbed browsing functions.

NOTE: IT IS BETA 1. It is not feature complete. It may not work well on your system although it has worked fine on the one system where I installed it. Take the usual precautions when installing BETA software.
