    Opening a Form (Access 2003)

    Good morning!

    I was trying to find an option in Access that when a main form is opened the text boxes on the form do not display the first record in a table, rather the text boxes would be empty and waiting for a user to enter new data for a new record. Does this option exists?

    Thanks!

    Hi Dave

    Yes, a simple fix.

    1)Open the form in Design View
    2) Select Properties of the form
    3) Click the Data tab
    4) Change Data Entry to Yes

    Thanks for the reply Jerry!

    I toggled that option in the properties but there is a slight problem. Unfortunately when you select this option you can not see the other record via scrolling. Is there a way to have my cake and eat it too? =)

    Put the following code in the On Load event of the form:

    Private Sub Form_Load()
    DoCmd.GoToRecord Record:=acNewRec
    End Sub

    (and set the Data Entry property back to No)
