photodraw forum

out of curiousity: since photodraw hasn't had a post since december - 04, would it be more useful for the lounge to change the forum to cover a more popular & up-to-date photo application? like adobe photoshop or something along the lines of that? i would use a photoshop forum for sure. i guess there would be issues in finding out who is adept with photoshop to moderate it, but other than that.....

i know that its also because its an MS product, but...

I also would use the forum if Paint Shop Pro and/or Photoshop Elements were included.

    John

It is a difficult one. The Lounge generally only looks after Microsoft products, Photodraw being one of these. I personally use Macromedia Fireworks for my animations and general cleaning up of photo's etc and I imagine there are a whole bunch of different packages that other Loungers use. Pix Place in my opinion as a day to day Lounger, is the place to go for general questions about imaging. I have found that the mainstream imaging applications are much the same today. Yes, the interfaces are different but the methodology behind their use is almost exactly the same. Plenty of Loungers visit Pix Place all using different packages and I am sure some of us will pick up on your questions...Pix Place is moderated very well.

This is my opinion as a regular Lounger, but will of course, take advice from Moderators and Administrators

ah, thats interesting... i thought Pix Place was a place to post neat "Pix" you have made or taken... especially since it is under the "Light Relief" section. and its description says:

Smilies and other useful graphics. Post them, request them, discuss them, collect them. Keep 'em small!

maybe i was misled by this?

All well and good, but the posts expire after 90 days as well - so really not a very good place for questions/tips/shortcuts etc for the various software products. Just my .

    Re: photodraw forum

Definitely, a Photoshop forum would be most welcome, but the posts probably should last longer than three months. Still, it might work...

Anything we come up with will be generic, not focused on a specific graphics application.

    Re: photodraw forum

that sounds like the way to go since there is such a large range of programs related to "graphics" (eg. icon makers, animated gif programs, 3d art, etc)

It's nice to see this forum updated with a new title but I really do appreciate that you kept the older posts! I still use it as a reference since I am using MS PhotoDraw on XP!
