    Animated Gif in Banner (2002)

    Hi,

I am new to Front page. I want to insert about a dozen animated gif files of various size stars into the banner to give a star field affect. Goal is to have them to the right side of the banner with the other preformated Themes to the left. Every time I insert the animation (which works fine in preview) it thows off the spacing/formatting to the theme images. Is there any way to insert the animations without affecting the other images in the border?

    Thanks,
    Leesha

Have you tried placing/separating them in a (borderless) table?

Nope! Like I said I'm new to Front Page and so I didn't even think to try that. Have tried every other thing you can imagine but not that one!
Will give it a shot. I'm assuming I insert the borderless table into the banner and then set the column withs to incorporate all the items in the banner including the preformated ones?

    Er... probably! <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
I personally never used banners, so I'm not going to be a lot of help, but I would imagine you are on the right track. If the left and right areas you need separating are equal in space, I would set the cell widths to be 50% each, or pro-rata to suit.
Give it a go and see how you get on.

    Hi,

Just to use I found out quite by accident that if I set the picture property to "position absolutley" on the picture toolbar I can than drag it where ever I want.

    Thanks!

Just a footnote that different browsers may interpret absolute positions a bit differently, so try to allow several pixels in each direction (don't put your stars too close to the edges of the background) to account for this.
