    Sata Harddrive

I have a 120 sata hard disk with about 60 percent occupied. Is it possible to copy this via Usb to external hard drive that is not SATA or is it necessary to have an external sata drive. I am looking for ways to safe guard the HD contents in case of disater.

    Re: Sata Harddrive

I back up a RAID-1 "pair" of disks to an external drive.
The RAID-1 drives just happen to be SATA, but I have no idea what the external drive is, and it does not matter.
The fact that the external drive is connected via Firewire doesn't matter either.

There is a fair amount of flexibility in PCs...
