Phil, before you get an answer you need to fix your DirNow link to be http://www.nettally.com/waldoe/freeware/fileutil.html!!

Digging through folders

URL corrected by HansV

I have a utility called DirNow! for digging through folder paths & finding folders. I like the utility very much, except that it doesn't find some folders that are hidden or system. There hasn't been an update for many years. I wonder if anyone knows of a similar utility that works well in Win XP. FWIW, all you have to do is type the partial name of a folder (e.g. "info) & it will display a list of paths for all files that have "info" somewhere in their name. (such as
cocuments and SettingsPhilDesktopEditTo Delete$NtServicePackUninstall$.txtFavoritesLinksBo okmarksLocal Information
cocuments and SettingsPhilFavoritesLinksBookmarksLocal Information
cocuments and SettingsPhilDataPocket_PC My DocumentsSysInfo, etc.)
Thanks for any feedback,

Thanks, John. Since Phil is not online right now, I have taken the liberty to correct the URL.

Hi John:
Thanks, but I get to the same site whether I click on my link or yours. I think they're the same link.

I'm not sure what your intentions are after "digging through folder paths & finding folders". But Quick Change Directory (QCD) seems to address a similar functionality. ware, of course.

Thanks, Hans & John. I see I responded to John 2 seconds after you fixed the URL. It's those extra fingers.

Re: Digging through folders

Thanks, Alan. I figured if anyone knew of a utility, it would be you. There's something missing from the XP version, though. The zip file has a com file & a dll, but no install program. The author is on an extended vacation, so I'll try to contact him in September.

Bummer . The only other source I can think of might be Directory listing and maintenance related utilities. But you'll have to wade through by hand to find those suited to XP.

Wow, that's quite a list. I'll keep that in reserve. Thanks again, Alan.
Cheers,
