You could try to download it againa and then uninstall and reinstall. You might want to check out IEBlog : General IE Information and several of the links there. Since IE7 is just in beta 1 not many in the general community know much about it. I run it at work and haven't had that issue.

As it is beta 1 it is not surprising there are difficulties even with the error reporting. Did you disable your A/V and any other active checking (i.e. spyware, etc.) software during the install? You should have as little as possible running during the install.

    Joe,
Do you know of a download site for IE7 beta?
All I see is a Technology paper download on their site. Any limited available DLs?

Do you think SP2 could be the problem. This board is chuck full of SP2 problems. That's the reason I will not install it.

I wish you good luck trying to work around it.

    Gloria,
What do we have to do to get you to install SP2?
Just for the added security should be enough reason.
Try it, You'll like it. Honest!

<hr>This board is chuck full of SP2 problems<hr>
More realistically, this board is full of recommendation after recommendation after recommendation after recommendation (ad infinitum) to INSTALL SP2. And yet because you have heard that some people, somewhere have had some problems with it, you steadfastly refuse to install it. And that is certainly your choice. But to suggest that SP2 might be the possible cause of a problem with the first release of a piece of BETA software - <img src=/S/groan.gif border=0 alt=groan width=16 height=15> .

<What do we have to do to get you to install SP2>

This you ask and I have the answer. One or two of you brilliant minds, come to my house (I'll send you the directions). Install SP2 and fix any and all things it breaks. Before you leave, Windows XP must be up and running just like or better than it was before.

    Does that answer the question?

    Re: MSIE7 (Beta 1)

    Hi Dave,
Have you taken a count of how many posts mention having SP2 installed? I have and it overwhelms me. The gentlemen I married has 3 computers in the computer room we share. He installed SP2 against my advice and had to format ever hard drive he put it on. I'm not about to let myself in for another format, no matter what. I know this may sound silly and foolish, but I'd rather catch a worm. The protection I have on my computer would protect Ft. Knox. Until I'm forced to upgrade, SP1 will have to do. Unless, of course, the terms I posted earlier are met.

John my dear friend, I suggested nothing of the sort. I merely ask a question. Is that illegal on Woody's now?

    Re: MSIE7 (Beta 1)

Of course it's not illegal Gloria. I just assumed that since you since you wished <!profile=epopp>epopp<!/profile> "good luck trying to work around it" that you had possibly ascribed his problem to SP2. If I may answer your question then (although you didn't ask me), I'm sure that since MS tests ALL of their software (including beta software which is released for testing, error reporting and consumer evaluation purposes only) on the latest and most fully patched and up to date version of Windows XP (read SP2), that is not the problem in this case. If MS had detected any conflicts between WinXP SP2 and IE7 Beta1, they would not have released it for testing.
