    Startup Form Odd Behaviour (2003)

    The startup form PonteAcqua (please see attachment) opens without any problem on startup but if I try to open it from the Database Window I get a syntax error message and subsequently Access shuts down.

    Re: Startup Form Odd Behaviour (2003)

    The error message is because the expression

    DMax("Giorno", "pa", "[Giorno]<#" _
    & Format([GIORNO], "mm/dd/yyyy") & "#")

    results in Null, so

    "Giorno=#" & Format(DMax("Giorno", "pa", "[Giorno]<#" _
    & Format([GIORNO], "mm/dd/yyyy") & "#"), "mm/dd/yyyy") & "#"

    evaluates to

    "Giorno=##"

    Why this doesn't happen if the form is started automatically, I don't know. I suspect that the calculations behind the form and subform are too complicated, but it's such a tangle that I can't analyze it.
