Calculation in form footer (2002)

    Hi,

I have a form with two subforms. I need to be able to have a total for each subform in the footer of the main form. I tried the following formula but it produced an error.

    =Sum(Forms!frmAnnualExpenses![annual amount required])

    What am I missing?

    Thanks,
    Alicia

Worked like a charm and the explanation helped make it make sense!

    Thanks,

Your subform isn't part of the Forms collection.

Put a text box txtAnnualSumRequired in the footer of the subform with control source

    =Sum([annual amount required])

Put a text box in the footer of the main form with control source

    =[frmAnnualExpenses]![txtAnnualSumRequired]

When you've checked that it works (hopefully!), you can make txtAnnualSumRequired invisible.
