    Save As Dialog (2003/SP1)

    I have the following code I use to save documents with a filename created from data in a document:

    strFilename = ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("DocName").Range.Text
    strDOCExt = ".DOC"
    ActiveDocument.SaveAs FileName:="C:AscendEditX_" + strFilename + strDOCExt

    I would like to have the SaveAs dialog remain open for the user to edit the filename before it is saved. Is there a way I can do that?

    Thanks!

    Re: Save As Dialog (2003/SP1)

    Try FileDialog (available since Word 2002):

    With Application.FileDialog(msoFileDialogSaveAs)
    .InitialFileName = "C:AscendEditX_" & strFilename & strDOCExt
    If .Show = True Then
    ActiveDocument.SaveAs FileName:=.SelectedItems(1)
    End If
    End With

    or use Dialogs(wdDialogFileSaveAs)
