    multi-select Forms listbox (Excel 2003)

I was showing someone how to use the listbox w/the Forms tool bar and all went well until they asked about the 'selection type' field under Format Control. The choices are 'single', 'multi', 'extended' but I could only get 'single' to work as that's all I've ever tried. When I selected 'multi' I could choose more than one item in the list but the 'cell link' value didn't change at all (this should return the position of the item(s) chosen). Does this even work? How can you use 'multi' or 'extend' (whatever extend means)? <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>

    Thnx, Deb

Deb - Multi and Extend allow you to select more than one item from the list; Multi allows "Ctrl-Click" to select additional items, while Extend allows "Shift-Click" to select a series of items. If either of these are chosen as the "selection type" then the cell link is disabled, and the only way to determine which items have been selected is through VBA.

Ahhhh, ok I see. I don't usually use VBA with the Forms objects but your reply makes sense. I think I'll just use the regular Control/ActiveX list box as I'm used to those and have done multi-select lists before. I just thought there was some trick to using the listbox on the Forms toolbar that I didn't know about.
