Scope in powerpoint (winXP / O2003)

    Hi,

Can anyone confirm to my latest finding that scope is different in Powerpoint to Excel

Got a module with Option Explicit set.
In there I create a custom commandbar.
To the command bar I add some .OnAction buttons, that in turn calls other subs in the same module.

In Excel these run fine as eg. "Private sub mnuAbout".
However in Powerpoint they don't react until I change the scope to "Public sub mnuAbout"

I'm puzzled here - thought this would be "cross-office implemented standards...?

    Your observation is correct.

Surely you must have noticed that there are differences in the way Visual Basic and toolbars work in each of the Office applications?

    Yep, I've noticed that.

But as commandbars are office objects, I intuitively trusted them to be treated consistently through the apps.
Was just puzzled by the differences in scope handling, as I thought it would be easier for MS to have this consistent through the apps, instead of having to maintain varying scopes for each app.

    You'd think so, but apparently not... <img src=/S/shrug.gif border=0 alt=shrug width=39 height=15>
