    Notify-Reverse Engineering (XP:SP3)

One can determine if a file is open by someone and then select "Notify" to obtain a notification that the individual has exited the file.

Is it possible to reverse engineer this to send the individual who has the file open a message?

    Thanks,
    John

    Some options might be:
create a list in VB of the username and their email address
get the username via code and have VB send them an email

make a list of the user names that come up with the "notify" dialog and add their real names and phone numbers to it.
Then when you get that dialog, look in your list and call them on the phone and leave them a message. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

Supposedly you could also make the username, names and phone numbers in an array and have VBA looki it up and pop up a dialog that shows the phone number so you don't have to look it up manually
