Picture Manager cuts the right site... (Office 2003)

    Hello,

I copy a window or dialog or screen to clipboard with ALT+PRINT (ALT+Druck in german) and paste it to Picture Manager. Now Picture Manager cuts the right side of the picture (3 or 4 pixel columns) and paste it to the left side...

If I paste the picture in Paint Shop Pro (7, 8 or 9) or MS Paint the picture is correct. If I copy the picture in Paint Shop Pro (or MS Paint) and paste it in Picture Manager (also through clipboard) the picture is correct! (?)

What's wrong? Is it a bug in Picture Manager - clipboard-handling?

Windows XP SP2 (german), Office 2003 Pro SP1 (german)

    Regards.
    Axel

    Axel,

On my system, the paste operation works fine and I cannot find anything in the KB regarding this problem. Perhaps one thing to try might be a "Detect and Repair" - available from the Help menu in PM.

Image edited by HansV - it was far too wide, please don't post pictures over 640x480 pixels in size.

    Thank you, John,

but if I use "Detect and Repair" only the saturation of the picture changes, not the cutted columns...

I've made a screen shot and set some arrows to show you the problem.

As I said earlier, the paste works as it should on my system, so I don't know what to suggest. Perhaps someone else can jump in.

I have moved this thread from the General MS Office Suite forum to the Graphic Applications forum, in the hope that people familiar with Graphic Applications will be more likely to see it.

have you tried something goofy, like adjusting the monitor settings to nudge the screen? perhaps picture manager (I know nothing about it) is picking up some setting in the monitor display.

Try grabbing a corner of your screen and pulling it in ever so slightly to shrink the window. You appear to be working with the window minimized and then stretched to fill the screen.

If you are still having trouble, you might want to grab a copy of the <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15> screen capture utility HandySnap and use it to do your screenshots. HTH <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

    Hello steve,

I've tested it on some different machines (notebooks, pc's) with different graphiccards and resolutions...

    Hello DocWatson,

thanks, but I don't understand your tip...

I test the copy&paste function with a lot programs like PaintShopPro, Paint, Paint.Net, Photoshop, PhotoEditor ... all of this programs don't cut the columns, only PictureMangager does!

I think it's a bug and I've to give my users another free "picture manager"-tool, like the old PhotoEditor...:-(

    Regards
    Axel

Might be a bug. I'm not familiar with the program.

If you need to replace the application for your users, give them Irfanview. It's a great program and it is also <img src=/S/free.gif border=0 alt=free width=30 height=15>.

    Thanks,

IrfanView is only free for private use, schools or humanity organizations. For commercial use in a company you have to license it... (10 EUR for 1 license)

I will look for the new Paint.NET from Microsoft... or embed the old Photo Editor in my standard client...

    Axel
