Open or transfer files (Opera 8.02)

I'm trying Opera, having been able to get a registration code in free offer the other day.

There's a site I go to fairly frequently to get a Sudoku puzzle http://www.guardian.co.uk/sudoku and on that page you can click a link for that day's puzzle in PDF format. On my home PC (Win XP Home) if I click the link the PDF page comes up in the browser. But on another PC with Opera (Win XP Pro), clicking the same link produces a dialog box asking me if I want to open or save the file. I can't see where the setting is that makes the difference. Any ideas?

Press Ctrl+F12 (or Tools / Preferences). The attached graphic shows the dialog that appears. Select the advanced tab, then downloads (on the left).

Look for the application/pdf selection, and press edit.

    You'll find the options there.

In addition to Chris' method, you can make your selection permanent in the dialogue box (see screenshot).

Thanks. As always, someone in the Lounge knows the answer! <img src=/S/bow.gif border=0 alt=bow width=15 height=15>
