How to remove 'Add-ons'? (IE 6.0 (XP SP-2))

I have a few "add-ons" in the add-on Manager in the list for "Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer". I'm referring to those items which belong to applications which have previously been uninstalled. Can these items be deleted? (Registry modifications if necessary are not a problem). They probably don't pose any problem, but I would like to remove them and make things nice and tidy.

Look at %windir%Downloaded Program Files. Right click the ones you want to uninstall and select Remove. Also, take a look in the Freeware System Tools section at NirSoft - freeware utilities: password recovery, system utilities, desktop utilities.

Wow, I've never even noticed Tools>Manage Add-ons... before.

According to Help, everything on your list exists on your computer. It also says "Add-ons can be disabled but not easily removed."

Why not?! To uninstall some of them, you could try using Tools>Internet options..., General tab, Settings..., View Objects... Here you can right-click and Remove some ActiveX controls. But the Browser Helper Objects and Browser Extensions appear to live elsewhere.

While clearing a list in the Registry (wherever it might be) probably would cleanse this dialog, it probably makes sense to see if that portion of the registry also lets you track down the executables so you can remove those, too.

(Apologies for the large screen shot... I wanted to show the two dialogs side-by-side to illustrate the "gap" between them.)

Okay... got 'em all cleaned out. Thanks for pointing me in the right directlon. The hardest part was making sure they weren't needed, although ActiveX modules are easily replaceable.
