    Tab to Page 2

    Access 97
    I have a query based on a table with lots of fields. Am trying to create a tabbed form to input data (the form based on the table).

    My question is, what do I have to do so that when hitting Enter or Tab on the last field of Page 1, it will go directly to the top item of page 2 (without having to hit the Page 2 tab). At the present, it goes to the next record or page 1 tab.

    Re: Tab to Page 2

    Hi ABC,
    One way to accomplish this is to set the AfterUpdate Event of the last field on the tab page to run an event that Sets Focus to the next page:

    Private Sub FieldName_AfterUpdate()
    Page2.SetFocus
    End Sub

    (Where FieldName is the name of the TextField and Page2 is the name of the desired page in the Tab Control).

    You can also use the OnExit property, but it is often triggered by mistake if the user moves back to a previous field.

    I have set up Back and Next buttons on tab controls that work quite well. Let me know if you're interested and I'll give you the details.
