    Can't Access a Folder (XP SP2)

Any idea why XP denies access to the following folder. Also, how do I get access?

    Cocuments and SettingsAll UsersDocuments

I have full administrator privledges, so I don't understand why I have no access, cannot delete the folder, etc.

I am suspicious that this also relates to a problem I have with a shared folder on this computer in that I'm also denied access to it (and even though it is shared, other computers on the network show that network place as disconnected) I can't get it connected and I wonder if it resides within the above folder.

I have looked on my XP Pro SP2 system and there is no Documents folder in Documents and SettingsAll Users. The nearest I can find is a folder called Shared Documents

Do you know how and when this folder was created?

Take a look at this KB article and see if it helps.

    Re: Can't Access a Folder (XP SP2)

Hi Doc and thanks. That article did it. Why I had to boot up in Safe Mode and then log in as administrator I don't know, but it worked. This whole thing started right after my old router failed and I had to install a new one. After that my wife's computer could no longer perform her automatic backup to my HD. I discovered that her computer no longer could connect to the shared folder on my computer. As it turns out, the shared folder was in the folder that I could not access on my computer. In fact, not only could I not get into the All Users/Documents folder, when I did it no longer had the shared sub-folder "SharedDocs". How that got deleted I have no idea.

Anyway, thanks for the help, as we're all connected now.
