What happens when you don't hold down Ctrl, and click on the link with your mouse button?

Also: from which application you want to follow the link? Which roles did you add to your server? Did you check group policy for the account you logon to?

If links in question are the links to mapped drives, do you have rights to connect? If it is your home server, you can forget to logon FROM the server TO your computer(s) - to establish connection from a computer TO the server is not enough if you are trying to connect from the server.

When I use MS Word, the url appears in the bottom of the screen. Pressing or not pressing any key does not get me any response except for pressing the Control key and clicking.

When I use MS Excel, and click once, it produces the same message.

This problem appeared suddenly the other day. It may have been there previously, but since I didn

Re: Not letting me follow links

Are you sure you are using Windows Server 2003? In other words, are you on the right forum?

If you are using Server 2003, you can see Administrative Tools on the right side of Start menu (when you click Start button).

In case if you are using Windows XP (Version 2002), you can try to restore the computer to the day before your problem occurred. To do so, click Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore. Choose "Restore my computer to an earlier time" option and choose the date.

My error. I should have been on Windows XP.

I did try the restore option, but it didn't work.

This sounds like an MS Office application option. Try Tools/Options/Edit tab/Uncheck "Use Ctrl+click to follow hyperlink".

I had previously checked to make sure the 'Tools/Options/Edit tab/Uncheck "Use Ctrl+click to follow hyperlink' was checked. At your suggestion I unchecked it, but the problems didn't go away. Now I get the same error message when I just click on the link.

I suspect the problem lies with some instruction to the system administrator section. The follow the link command did work in the past. I seem to have the same type of problem when I access Word on-line help. Sometimes I can't follow a lead on the help screen to get other help. For example if I don
