    I understand the whole 'binary' concept (ever doubling), but not the base concept..it's just weird... (I've yet to go to college, hopefully I'll learn it there...not for lack of wanting, just the whole military thing doesn't go hand in hand with college...)

    Schools must have really gone "downhill" from when I was in school. I recall being exposed to it before Junior HS (I graduated HS in 1976).

    I thought that the concept of binary math (base 2) had been even more "stressed" since that is how computers work (1s and 0s), so everything is binary in computer terms. Even the Octal (base 8) and Hexadecimal (base 16) are being stressed more.

    doesn't the US military claim to pay for your degree and that you can earn one while you are in service? thats what i gather from watching the commercials on tv anyway..
