    Pop3 Account (03)

I just setup Outlook to send/receive e-mail messages using Pop3. The issue I am having is when I open Outlook I automatically enter my outlook account and then I am prompted for my password. How do I prevent Outlook from going directly into my account?

    Thanks,
    John

Maybe this is a dumb question, but where to you want Outlook to go if not into your account?

If you don't want Outlook to check for mail automatically, I believe you can stop that by turning off the setting to check every X minutes.

    John,

One would think that Outlook profile would be secured with a password; not going direct to view what one has in the PST file.

    John

Your Outlook profile is secured by your Windows login. <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>

That is true but what if I want to secure the outlook login besides having the windows login?

    Re: Pop3 Account (03)

Outlook seems to provide three levels of security:

    (1) PST-specific password (right-click Outlook Today in the folder list, Properties...)
    (2) Account (send/receive) password (account settings)
    (3) Windows logon password

By using all 3 you should be able to make it essentially impossible for anyone to see your existing mailbox or retrieve new mail from your account.
