    What is () (Excel2003)

    I am reading through so VBA and have come to a section where the author started a sub like this;
    Sub GetProgramDataToProgramDataFile(vProgramDataStatus )

    I understand the macro's procedure name but what is the reason for having vProgramDataStatus in ( ), I am use to seeing nothing in the brackets,

    Procedures and functions can have one or more arguments. They are values passed to the procedure/function, the code can do something with them. If a procedure/function has no argument, its name is followed by () only. A macro is a procedure (sub) without argument.
