    Removing Outlook Today in OL98

I'm posting this for two reasons:

    1) For those of us that don't like the "Outlook Today" view in Outlook.

    2) For those end users you support or you yourself, if they or you have ever dropped something into "Outlook Today" by accident.

For those of you who dropped something in Outlook Today accidentally, simply use the Advanced Find.

Click Outlook Today in the folder list.

Click Advanced Find in the tools menu.

In the Look For list, click to select the type of Outlook item, and type the required search criteria.

Click Find Now, and move the found items to another folder.

For those of us who don't like Outlook Today
Editing your registry, being very careful of course, you need to look for a key HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice8.0Outlook Today

Add a DWORD with a value of Disable
Change the Value Data to 1
Exit the registry, then open outlook and see if Outlook Today is gone.

    Be careful!

For complete details see Microsoft's Knowledgebase Search Lookup Article ID Q184856 or use Outlook Today as your keyword search.
