    Excel/Word interaction

I have a large macro that is invoked from Excel. It starts Word, and moves a large amount of data from Excel to Word, then brings up a file requester and saves the newly created Word document to disk. This all works well, but there is a glitch. Since the macro is invoked from Excel, the file requester comes up with a ".xls" default. So, the user has to type in the entire file name including the .doc after erasing the .xls. Is there any way to make the file requester come up with a ".doc" default even though it is called from Excel?

    Thanks, bern muller

    Bern,

This sounds like an interesting macro.
It would probably be helpful if you could post the relevant portions of the code, that relate to the 'file requester' - hard to tell what the problem is, without seeing it.

    Regards,
    Gary
