Reviewing toolbar does not stick (2000, 9.0.6926)

Hi,
I am new to the lounge, so forgive me if this has been asked before. I did a search of the threads and did not find an exact answer. I would like the reviewing (track changes) toolbar to show up in every document. However, it seems to come and go, depending on who created the document. Is there any way I can get it to "stick" permanantly?

Word decides whether to show or hide the Reviewing toolbar based on the contents of the document (does it contain tracked changes? was it received by e-mail? etc.). To keep the toolbar visible under all circumstances would require advanced VBA code; if you want we can help you with that. A relatively easy solution would be to create a small macro in your Normal.dot:

Sub ShowReviewingToolbar()
Application.CommandBars("Reviewing").Visible = True
End Sub

and to assign it to a custom toolbar button (on the Standard toolbar or on a custom toolbar) and/or to a keyboard shortcut. That way, displaying the Reviewing toolbar is only a mouse click or keystroke away.

The usual complaint in the past was that the Reviewing toolbar doesn't go away when a document with changes is closed. However, that might be a Word 2002/2003 phenomenon.
