    Backing Up .pst Files (2003/SP1)

I'm trying to back up my personal folder, but it's 1,400,721 KB, and too big to copy and burn onto a CD.

Can anyone tell me how to: (1) get it onto a CD, and (2) how to keep the .pst file to a manageable size (do I start a new one?)?

    Thanks.

Question #2: Use the built-in compact utility by right-clicking on the PERSONAL FOLDERS icon on the left pane in folder view, go to PROPERTIES, ADVANCED, COMPACT NOW. Also, archiving older items creates a new archive folder and reduces the .pst.

Also, PST files are moderately compressible using a ZIP utility. Yours may still be too big to fit on one CD, so Archive it as suggested.

From the sound of it, you don't have a drive capable of writing DVDs (which can take up to 4.7 Gb) - but I thought I'd remind you fo this option (just in case). <img src=/S/smile.gif border=0 alt=smile width=15 height=15>
