message from outlook (Outlook 2002, SP3)

recently, outlook started giving me this message when i clicked to open anything:
outlook message: a program is trying to access e-mail addresses you have stored in outlook. do you want to allow this? if this is unexpected, it may be a virus and you should choose "no". there is a check box for this dialog and a "yes", "no" and "help" button. clicking on help button just says the same thing.
any ideas why this is happening?!

I have the same problem. It's very annoying. i think it must be related to some kind of anti-virus program to stop unauthorized messages from going out using my address book. But, even if you click on 'no' , it doesn't stop the program from opening up a new mail message, so what good is the 'protection?' I haven't been able to find whatever it is that controls it.

As far as I know I don't have any add ins and I don't have any devices like a Blackberry or Palm Pilot.

Thanks for the tip. I downloaded and installed the program. When I opened Outlook it said to read and set the program but nothing came up automatically so I'm gonna go to the program file and see what i can do. Anything will be better than that annoying message. Cheers, wahoo1003

(Edited by HansV to make URL clickable - see <!help=19>Help 19<!/help>)

i found this program (http://www.mapilab.com/outlook/security) and together with a good spyware scrubber (http://www.ewido.com) i was able to make this stop! i hope i works for you too : )
