    Recognizing functions (2000)

A coworker has started having problems in Access. He was getting an error message about not being able to find a function in an expression. I narrowed it down to the Date function. Anything with that function in it will return that message for him. I replaced the Date function with the Now function in a couple of those instances and it solves the problem. This just started happening yesterday. I do not experience the same problem when I am using the database.

Any idea as to the problem/solution?

    Thanks,
    Eric

This is usually caused by a missing reference. Let your co-worker try the following (in the problem database):
    - Activate the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11)
    - Select Tools | References...
    - If there are references starting with MISSING, note which ones they are, then clear their check boxes.
    - Click OK.
    - See if the Date function works now.
He may have to set references to replace the missing ones.
