    Desktop Toolbar (Win XP)

I have a faculty member who would like a toolbar on his desktop that has all of the office products on it so he can just click on the Word icon and go right to word, excel, etc. Within Word I clicked on the customize, toolbar option, and chose the Microsoft toolbar and this is the same toolbar he wants on the desktop. Not sure how to accomplish this for him. Another thing, I could not get the toolbar to stay when I exited word. I tried using shift, save all and this still does not work. No big deal as I do not need the office toolbar, just curious about that.

    any ideas??
    thanks

Would the Quick Launch bar work? It is easy to customize. Just enable it (right click the start bar, select 'Toolbars", click on Quick Launch), make sure the Taskbar is unlocked, then drag and drop shortcuts to the quick launch area. Size it the way you want. Lock the taskbar.
