Looking for Control Type property (Word 2000)

I was trying to use the ControlType property of a form control but it doesn't seem to be available. Is this only available from 2002 onwards?
More precisely, I'm trying to key If ctl.ControlType = TextBox Then... ? Andy.

ControlType is a property of Access controls, not of MSForms controls. You can use

If TypeOf ctl Is MSForms.TextBox Then

    or

    If TypeName(ctl) = "TextBox" Then
