    Chart title link? (xl97/WinNt4)

Is it possible to make a chart title a link?

I have a chart that is planned to take information from another spreadsheet (the latter being completely beyond my control) so I want to make the chart's title the date, which is in cell A5 of sheet1 of this spreadsheet.

    However, if I type:

    ='c:[workbook1.xls]sheet1'!$A$5

into the title box it just shows as exactly that text, not the link. Do I have to do it in VBA?

Select the title, then enter the link in the formula bar (or you can just select the cell to avoid trying to figure out the syntax.)

You can also link a cell to a text box and use the text box on the chart as a title. Use the same method the Steve mentions!
