A long integer is a whole number, it cannot store decimals. If you want decimals, change the field size of the destination field to Single or Double, or change the field type to Currency.

Which would be the politically correct one to use (Double or Currency) to handle and display values 1.23 to 1,234,567.89 used to multiply times a rate?

    Thanks, John

Currency is used for data that represent money, obviously, and it can come in handy if you need to handle very large numbers with decimals. Otherwise, use Double.
