    Switching ActivePrinter - doesn't (XP)

Many of our clients have printing macros which switch printers and trays. Recently a client's new code failed to print to the selected printer - as a thin client. Same code works for thick client. Other clients work fine on thin client - set up by the same IT company who say the set up is the same. Even using administrator doesn't work - so it is unlikely to be permissions.

Tracing the code, at the point where it says "ActivePrinter = PrinterStd", PrinterStd is correct.
There is a delay, the user's default printer is switched to PrinterStd (as shown by the tick in the printer window) - but the property ActivePrinter is unchanged and the print goes elsewhere.

    WHY? WHY? WHY?

Is PrintStd a function that changes the system default printer??

When you say "thin client," is this Citrix or Windows Terminal Services or ?? Someone with specific experience might be able to supply an answer, or at least better guesses. <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

PrintStd is just a string variable (depending on the button clicked this & the tray variables are filled in from a prior macro recording session)

    The thin client is Citrix.

    Any help gratefully received! <img src=/S/grovel.gif border=0 alt=grovel width=31 height=23>
