    DVD reader-UDF

After having had a very serious systemcrash I had to format my C-partition and reinstall all my software.
After I had done so I discovered that my AOpen DVD writer works fine, but that my AOpen DVD player doesn't recognize ANY DVD data DVD's anymore, neither the Recordables nor the ReWritables. It does, however, read all the CDR's and RD Rw's ... and it plays movie DVD's.

Whenever I insert a data DVD the explorer changes the name of the station from DVD station into UDF reader and I don't seem to be able to make it work.
I updated the UDF reader and when that didn't work I uninstalled the UDF reader and installed it again, I tried to remove the station in the systemconfiguration .. all to no avail.

Any help for me out there??? I work with Roxio 7 .....

    Regards,

    Erica Jabroer-ter L

i would try downloading the most recent version of software drivers for the drive and install them. its possible that the OS used it's own drivers when you re-installed- win2k & XP tends to do that anyway, and may not have used the most optimal drivers. you should be able to find them at the manufacturer's website.
