    Zooming Curiousity (A2K)

This is more a curiousity thing than a real problem. If I run a "Zoom" command,

    RunCommand acCmdZoomBox

it runs OK in any field, unless the field has an input mask like

    >L0L" "0L0 for a Canadian Postal Code or

    (000") "000-0000;;_ for a telephone number.

I wouldn't be "Zooming" such a small field, but like I said, just curious as to why that wouldn't work.
    Cheers,
    Andy

I have been trying this using the Shift + F2 method of zooming, and it seemed to me that putting any input mask on the field stops the zoom working.

It is not clear to me whether you are saying that it is the specific masks you mention that are the problem, or just examples.

    Hi John,

Thanks for responding. So I guess it's just not me and my usual coding luck. Like I said, it's not a problem in who would want to zoom in on a phone number. It was just curious that any field that was "masked" got all electronically excited. Thanks again,
    Cheers,
    Andy

The reason is that the Zoom window cannot display/check/process the input mask, it's just a "dumb" text entry window. So it is necessarily disabled if there is an input mask.

    Hans,

Thanks kindly for clearing this up for me. I knew that "dumb" would have something to do with it, but I figured it might be my coding.
    Cheers,
    Andy
