    Outlook send/receive (Outlook 2002, SP3)

some people in our office are having an issue with outlook not sending an email until the send/receive button is clicked. they have set outlook to send immediately as well as to automatically check for new email. however, outlook seems to just ignore these settings. emails they thought they sent when they click send, just sit in the outbox until they manually click the send/receive button. the same applies to checking for new email, the only way outlook will check for new email is to manually click the send/receive button. can anyone help?! thanks .....

The setting you are talking about should work without fail on a stand-alone POP set-up; such as you would run at home. If, however, you are connected through Microsoft Exchange - or Small Business Server - you may find that the setting has been overriden at the server. HTH
