    Display Properties|Settings don't hold (WinXP Pro SP2)

    Hi All,
I've got a bit of annoyance with my laptop. It just came back from Gateway repair (11 months left of a 3 yr. warranty, 3rd mother board replacement); Model #450ROG. They also updated the BIOS.
Anyway, both here at work and at home I have a docking station with another monitor attached. During the time I have had it and up until it returned from Gateway I could adjust the Display Properties|Settings to match the physical arrangement of the monitors for each location; i.e. side by side at home and monitor 2 above monitor 1 (my laptop screen) at work. That does not happen now. Whenever I take it from work to home the monitor arrangement stays with the settings I use at work, and vice versa.
Is there a switch or setting somewhere that handles this?
    Thank you.

    You can create Hardware Profiles.

Open System Properties (from Control Panel or right-click My Computer icon on your desktop and from pop-up menu choose Properties), then click Hardware tab and Hardware Profiles button.

Follow instructions as described in following example:
How to Manually Create Hardware Profiles for Laptop Computers
