How could I change the font for the messages in the inbox that I have read .

Without running a macro a simple way is to change the view once the email is opened. On the View menu, Select Text size, then click Largest, which increases the font size. alternatively add a specific coloured flag to show that you have read the item, which is under the Action, Follow-up menu. HTH

What kinds of changes would you want to make? The View settings contain your font formatting (typeface, size, color), and the Automatic formatting for Unread messages (which can be in a different typeface, size, color -- as well as bold).
