    Getting external data ( )

I would like to use Excel to extract data from an external data source (another software package called MRI-used for property management). In the past, in Excel, I was able to go to Data>Import External Data>New Database Query to select certain criteria and extract the data from the external data source. Currently, there are no links set up to do this. What needs to be done to get this set up again? Thanks for you help.

There should be an ODBC driver for MRI installed on your PC. If not, contact the supplier (Intuit?) about it. You can use the ODBC driver to retrieve data from MRI.

Or do you mean that you don't have Data | Import External Data | New Database Query in your menu any more?

No, I have the Data>Import External Data>New Database Query , just not the link to the MRI database. I will check out the ODBC driver. Thanks.
