Printing a Directory List (Windows XP)

I know there's a way to print a list of directory contents (e.g., files and subdirectories) to a text file using DOS commands from the command prompt. I can't remember the command.

    Does anyone remember?

    Thanks!!

    Something like

    DIR C:Windows /S > C:MyList.txt

The /S switch means include subdirectories, the > means redirect the output to the file specified after it; the file will be overwritten if it already exists, created if it doesn't. To append to an existing file, use >> instead of >

Directory Report is another utility you might try.
    It can be found here:

    Hi,

If you have Outlook you can bring up a file-system folder in your Outlook. It displays just like in Windows Explorer. This may sound useless until you discover that Outlook can PRINT IT.

In Outlook XP (which I no longer have) you needed to have the Outlook bar visible and then you could right click on it. I forget the details (except there was the odd choice "file system" at one stage), but it was not difficult to specify the folder whose contents you wanted printed.

I now have Outlook 2003 and I have just spent an unsuccessful five minutes trying to make it work here.

    Good luck.
