    Calendar with the lot!

    Calendar Magic V15.7 is a calendar program with, well... everything.

    *Calendar*? Do you really need a calendar for 1752 or a pregnancy calculator?? <img src=/S/yikes.gif border=0 alt=yikes width=15 height=15> This reminds me of those cell-phone/gps/camera/PDA/walkie-talkie gadgets that do everything, little of which is actually useful! <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

    For us British chaps and ms-chaps, 1752 was a very important date in our history because it was the year in which the Gregorian Calendar replaced the Julian Calendar in the UK (and the Colonies, as they were then called). It was necessary to skip 11 days of September, so that Wednesday 2nd September was followed immediately by Thursday 14th September. This gave rise to minor riots among the peasants who thought that they were thereby being deprived of eleven days of their lives (but would have to pay their taxes and rents eleven days sooner!). "Give us back our 11 days", was their cry! Read all about the British Calendar Act of 1751.

    I suppose a pregnancy calculator could be useful in the event of pregnancy, to which, fortunately, I am not prone (in spite of the userpic!).

    I like buttons! So, I will promptly download this little gem.

    But how often do you really need to look up a date in 1752, John?     Well, that's all very well for you to say. You were probably too young to realize it, but a lot of women who were pregnant in 1752 would have really appreciated it.     I found a feature on this calendar that may be very helpful to me (among others) - the Alarm Clock!! I can play on this computer and not realize time's passing. Now I can set my alarm to remind me <img src=/S/yep.gif border=0 alt=yep width=15 height=15> that it is time to move from this chair and accomplish other things!! <img src=/S/laugh.gif border=0 alt=laugh width=15 height=15>

    May I point out the slight bug, that the final entry in the Skitterbug schedule above should be 12.00 pm (not am). (12.00 am is midnight!) See the cribsheet from one of my BATch files...<pre>:: refresher course on the 12- and 24-hour clock systems
