Blog about new features (Access 12)

There's a new blog about what Access 12 will bring. Not much yet, but it might be interesting to follow:

A discussion of what's new in Access 12

Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a frequently updated journal kept by one person.

I think the mentioning of a new & improved Jet is pretty exciting! Then again, my life is pretty boring.

I guess I am in the same boring life category, because I also find changes in JET exciting. I have heard a few Access critics suggest Access is going to go away and be replaces by the new version of SQL Server. If they are continuing with furthur development I don't forsee this as happening.

Re: Blog about new features (Access 12)

The concept of replacing Access with SQL Server has been around in various forms since Access 2000, but the Access development team figured out that most people were using Jet rather than MSDE a couple of years ago, and has been working to enhance Jet. No info on what those changes might be, but as Office 12 is trialed we should begin to get some ideas. At the moment that is sort of in the background as people chew on the new User Interface design for all office apps.

Thanks Hans, this could be very useful. Although looking at this entry I think they could do with some tips from the Lounge on creating decent screenshots!
