Spelling check cycles for whole data set! (Access XP)

I was informed years back that the speeling feature ONLY checks records from the position of the cursor downwards. Recently someone proved me wrong in Access XP. They started speeling at the bottom records and the spell check cycled to the top of the table and continued down from there. Has this been changes since the 97 version, or was I originally mis-informed???

Have you tried the spell checker on your post? <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

I can't remember how it worked in Access 97, and I'd have to dust off my old PC to check. Is it really important?

Yeh...making spelling errors in a post to do with spelling...not very professional!!!

Its not important, but I was taken back by the change. I was in a demo proving the point when I got wacked with this change!!!

Maybe I can ask a reverse of the Q then. What do I do if I do not want the entire data set re-checked? Say the table has 50000 records. Can I only have it check the last 20 records that I entered without it cycling back and checking the other 50000 records???

    Tx

Cancel the dialog when it loops back to the top? <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>

I don't think you can set an option to stop the spell check when you've reached the last record.

Hmmn, I think I must look into this a little more....this does not sound very logical....I'm sure microsoft must have thought of this!!!

    Cheers

    Cancel when it reaches the top....( not a bad suggestion!!! ) <img src=/S/grin.gif border=0 alt=grin width=15 height=15>
