Carriage Return In the Footer (2003 SP2)

Is there a way to force a carriage return in the footer so that I can put what I want on 2 separate lines?

Not in the View | Header and Footer dialog. There are two ways to do it:

    1) With a tiny bit of code:
    - Activate the Visual Basic Editor (Alt+F11)
    - Activate the Immediate window (Ctrl+G)
    - Type the following (with the appropriate texts between the quotes):

    ActivePresentation.SlideMaster.HeadersFooters.Foot er.Text = "First line" & vbCr & "Second line"

    - Press Enter.

    or

    2) Edit the slide master directly:
    - Select View | Master | Slide Master.
    - Click in the Footer area.
    - The place holder <footer> will be selected automatically.
    - Type the footer text you want, and press Enter for a new line.
    - Close Master view.

    Thanks a bunch!

The second option is easier, but not very obvious in the way PowerPoint is set up.
