Office 2003 SP-2 has only been out for a short time; it is known to cause some problems, I don't know if this is among them.

You can try Jan Karel Pieterse's Systematic Approach to Behavioral Problems in XL.

Thanks Hans, I'll check out that link. This problem only seems to occur on one of the computers that I have updated.

    Re: Windows Explorer & Excel (Office 2003 - SP2)

    Hans,

I'm sorry, I'm getting my SP2s mixed up. My Excel problem has occurred since updating to Office SP2, not XP's SP2.

I checked out your link and I didn't have any addins or any other programs starting automatically when Excel opens up.

    Thanks again.

You could try uninstalling Office 2003 SP-2 (or doing a system restore to before you installed it) to see if things work OK then. You can always try to reinstall the service pack later on.

Did you try the regserver trick that is mentioned in the post Hans was referring to?

Thanks Hans, I think I'll save that one as a last resort.

    Jan,

No I haven't tried that yet but I will when I get back to that machine in the morning. I did, however, check and I had no addins installed but I'll give that regserver a try.

    Thanks.

I tried that regserver trick a fewdays ago and I think it may have done the trick.

    Thanks.
