    counting cells which contain numbers (Excel 2002)

    how do i get a count of numbers in a column that are between a certain range? ie how many cells contain numbers from 70 to 79, and how many contain numbers from 80 to 89 etc.
    Thanks for any help

    Look up the FREQUENCY function in the online help, it explains how to do this.

    In addition to the Frequency function Hans mentioned, you can use:

    <code>
    =COUNTIF(A1:A100,">=70")-COUNTIF(A1:A100,">79")
    </code>
