    Can't Partition HDD (WinXP/SP-2)

Can't seem to partition HDD 1....When I try Partition Magic, 8.05 I get error message: File zize does not match FAT allocation for file...This is a FAT32 formatted HDD in which I ended up with a single partition and I want to add another partition...any ideas what the problem is (doesn't seem like it should be difficult!!, but I can't figure out the problem).....any help appreciated.....I would like to avoid reformatting the HDD and then creating two partitions if possible....

Running CHKDSK would be a good starting point here, to make sure that the disk structure is correct before you start.
