(Edited by JohnGray on 17-Oct-05 17:19. added that Acrobat Reader was called from Firefox)
Could someone please try the "Rotate clockwise" or counterclockwise button? It does absolutely nothing for me...

    John

PS Later -- oops -- I should have said "when loaded into Firefox". When a PDF is loaded into Acrobat Reader native, it will rotate happily...

    Re: Adobe Reader 7.0.5 update

I loaded a PDF using Firefox 1.0.7 & the latest build of Firefox 1.4.1

The rotate clockwise/counterclockwise button worked for both browsers. I have Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0 installed so that may have made a difference.

    Tony

Yes, it used to totate merrily when last I tried it (which was probably for AR 7.0.1 in Firefox 1.0.3). I will have another bash to see if it was "just me"...

    John

PS Later, no it wasn't. Rotating the PDF in AR 7.0.5 works correctly in IE6, but not in Firefox 1.0.7...

AR7.0.5 works (i.e. rotates) fine here in FF1.0.7

Have you tried other pdf's? The attached works well as an example - note there is only sample text at the foot of the page.

    Re: Adobe Reader 7.0.5 update

I have just rebooted and tried again -- and the 1054 KB PDF I was trying before now rotates merrily! It's not the sort of thing I need to do very often...

    Sorry for the False Alarm!

    Re: Adobe Reader 7.0.5 update

v7.0.5 may be better in some respects but unfortunately it broke the ability to use a speed-up utility to make it load faster. I tried both PDF Speedup v1.42 and Acrobat Speedup v1.32 and get the same error with either "EWH32.api" would not load. I was using PDF Speedup v1.42 with v7.0.3 prior to moving to v7.0.5. I wiped out the old updated install of Acrobat 7+01+02+03+05 and put in a fresh copy of 7.0.5 with the same result. Is anyone else having this issue? I am using XPproSP2 with Firefox 1.07 as my default browser.

Are these the utilities that remove unneeded plug-ins? Maybe a file name has changed somewhere... I'd check with the authors.

    Re: Adobe Reader 7.0.5 update

I've purchased an ebook that suggested it could best be viewed by Adobe 7. or higher so I've downloaded 7.0.5. The copy I currently have installed is Adobe 4.0 having no reason until now to update. Is it best to uninstall this older version and then install the new version? I am assuming that 7.0.5 is a complete install of this application but I thought I'd ask before zapping along and messing everything up.

    Re: Adobe Reader 7.0.5 update

I'd uninstall the old version first. I'm not sure that 7.0.5 is a complete install. I think it is a patch and you need any of the 7.0.x versions installed already.

No, Adobe Reader 7.0.5 is a complete installation, not a patch. Check the filenames for "full" or "update".

(Edited by skitterbug on 12-Dec-05 08:28. for clearing up my confusion about the patched installs, versions, etc. I am now "good to go"!!

ps: I should have added that I found the complete install located here.

    Re: Adobe Reader 7.0.5 update

    John,

Yes, you are correct. The full version is 20 MB. You can also d/l a 9 MB update if you have a 7.x version already installed. Sorry, for my confusion.
