    If Only ?? (Excel 2002)

    Hi

I have spent two hours trying to get this to work, Hans has given me instructions how to build this kind of formula

But I just can't crack it (I'm going to put it down to lack brain power)

the first IF works but the second one just returns False. If I use the second one on it's own it works.

    =IF(B62="ID",(VLOOKUP($A62,addrebind,14,IF(B62="DI ",(VLOOKUP($C62,addrebdir,11,0))))))

    Many Thanks

    Braddy

The parentheses are placed incorrectly: the first VLOOKUP is not closed correctly. Also, the 4th argument to the first VLOOKUP is missing. Try this:

    =IF(B62="ID",VLOOKUP($A62,addrebind,14,FALSE),IF(B 62="DI",VLOOKUP($C62,addrebdir,11,FALSE)))
